Since 2011, Iran, a country with almost 80 million population, has been one of the amazing markets for New Rock’s VoIP products. Sales increase at a pace of 50% each year, thanks to two outstanding local partners, Fanavaran Rahyab System Asia and Kava Intelligent Communication. 

This market is so important that earlier in September, Allen Sun, a member of New Rock Global Service team, flied to Tehran and spent four weeks there, providing on-site training, troubleshooting, installation inspecting and data collecting of application and product localization.

Now,let's share with you a success story about the effort by Kava of migrating legacy PBX to SIP based VoIP solution.

VoIP Deployment in AFZ (Aras Free Trade -Industrial Zone) 

Established in 2003, AFZ, located in Northwest Iran at the border point neighboring Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, is one of the most important trading and economic centers in Iran. Its central city, Jolfa is a strategic economic trading region dates back to before Christ. As a free trading zone, AFZ has several legal, regional and customs benefits, attracting large amount of global investments in manufacturing, export, agriculture, mining, and business and commerce.

When the area was rapidly expanded to 51,000 hectares, the legacy central Panasonic PBX was soon running out of its capacity with no hope of meeting the fast growing demands.

Kava Intelligent Communication, led by its CEO Mr. Mehrdad Aboali, seized the opportunity and an IP telephony based migration proposal was submitted to the authority of Telecommunications and IT Administrations of AFZ.
The key idea was to install the new telephony capacity with VoIP solution, which in turn is seamlessly integrated with the existing facility, and thus to extend the life time of the legacy Panasonic PBX and effectively reduce the investment. Due to its high reputation as a system integrator and the popularity and proven quality of New Rock VoIP products, the proposal was approved quickly.

From 2012 till now, a dozen of New Rock OM IP Telephony systems and MX media gateways have been installed. The advantages of this migration plan include:

-  By using VoIP, cabling cost is significantly decreased
-  By keeping legacy analog phones with FXS modules, big saving on the total cost of ownership has been achieved
-  Multi-site networking allows direct and free intercom calls between seven main office buildings and outbound trunk sharing
-  Centralized collection of call detail recording for easy monitoring and management for both incoming and outgoing calls

-  Low cost and highly scalable call recording solution, in which call recordings are made by each gateway and managed through call recording agent running on external storage server
